These are some of my buds and I before a Nutcracker performance. very white.... we were supposed to be snow flakes. well the costumes didnt seem to fit right. the white costumes were... very constricting. can you imagine? the tops are very strenuating. its like wearing a plate of whale bones. the top suffocates you because your chest is smooshed and your lungs are pushed inside out. it is painful, especially when dancing. guess what! for the second of those performances, i screwed up and ran off stage at the wrong moment. my, was i an arse! oh yeah i gotta mention the one on the floor- guess what her name is! stacey. haha well she is a slow poke, so she didnt get dressed with us!
Veronese, Capezio, Bloch... all good brands. except bloch. have you ever tried these shoes? for you non-dancers, the first year you use these shoes is hell hell HELL. did i mention hell? well you get NASTY blisters on your feet and wrinkled, bloody swollen toes. these shoes are very very hard. the makers glue the shoes and bake them in the oven to make them hard. this hard glues in the shoe rubs against your toes and takes of your skin layer by layer until raw flesh appears. you think thats gross? well you havent seen nuthin yet. i remember my friend had a huge blister that bled right throguh her shoe. my dance instructor didnt care what pain she had, she still made her go up on her toes and dance. it was very very painful. well i personally like veroneses, even though they cost 70.00 a pair. ugh.
this is me? yeah its me. 1996 was it? dont i look so ugly with 'stage' makeup? i definitely think so. well this is one of my favorite costumes. we are supposed to be playing flutes in this costume. by the way, i suck at ballet, even though i have been dancing since 1988. i was currently the oldest at my studio, but apparently the worst dancer. haha not funny.
